XGJ was copied in NE IL on 137.7798 kHz, QRSS60 despite big storms just
across the border in Wisconsin. Copy was excellent around 0300Z when
signal was first tuned in and continued Q5 through 0730Z, though by then
the ARGO screen was brightening up a bit due to the QRN.

Tuning was then shifted to monitor lowfer WEB on 189.95 kHz, using
QRSS30 ARGO rate. Nothing was seen initially, but around 0930Z there was
a pre-sunrise enhancement and the signal was copied for about an hour.

Regarding the signal around 17.8 kHz that Jay mentioned, I agree with
Todd. I've copied a signal on 17.9 kHz a number of times and based on
the listing at http://www.vlf.it/trond2/15-20khz.html take it to be
TACAMO channel one. It varies modulation bandwidth, sometimes very wide,
sometimes "normal", and keys on and off.
