[Lowfer] Sending pictures via LOWFER

Recently a number of people have been trying to send pictures and screen
caps via the LOWFER remailer. The remailer has a maximum message size of
40KB since it is intended for TEXT MODES, typing, not pictures or graphics.
If you submit a huge file, it gets trapped by the remailer until I can
manually check the fallout and decide if I should forward it or not. I
might pass the first one but when it gets to be a habit, my tendency is
to reject them. One reason I reject them is that qth.net set the limit
low because you can send more text messages for the same cost in time,
bandwidth, and dollars. There are never enough dollars to completely pay
for operation of qth.net, so I will leave the message limit short.
It is also possible that all 200+ of you would not be happy receiving a
bunch of 400KB pictures instead of discussion you have come to expect.
If there is a small group who wants to see the picture, send it to them
directly. Or since most Internet accounts include some sort of home page
address, it should be entirely possible for you to load the picture to
your local home page on your ISP's server, then send the link to the
server and picture in your email. Anyone clicks the link, their browser
should open the picture.
Good luck with reception!
