Hi everyone:
Thanks for your input Ralph, and I believe you are correct.
After looking at the wire more closely, it is just several
strands of tiny wire loosely wrapped and soldered at the ends.
A second series of windings underneath the first is 7 strands
of hair thin wire loosely wrapped, and soldered at the ends.
One thing Peter mentioned is the wire being brittle, and
breaking. The monitor was 11 years old, so the wire is at least
that or older, and I started seeing that happen with one strand
breaking while trying to unwind it. But it's still good wire,
and I'll find some use for it. Coils for receiving antennas,
or maybe a small receiving loop. At least it's on hand if I
need it.
