Tip/Warning on using/reusing Litz wire.
Yes, Litz has great properties for inductance, however, its nature does not take to much handling, ie, unwinding-rewinding. The collection of insulated multi-strands can thereby be compromised for RF, although that piece of Litz may ohm out fine.
The other consideration is proper termination via connectors. Simple soldering won't get enough of the strands with certanty. A solder pot is of use in this circumstance. Others have schemes of doing likewise with chemical insulation removers before taking up with the soldering iron.

Hey everyone:

Unwinding the yoke full of LITZ wire. Here's what it measures to;
20 strands, and total diameter of all strands equals 20 Guage size.
I don't even know how to find out, so do any of you know what type
of wire this is? meaning 20/?? unserved. I don't know the size of
each individual strand. This I do know, It came from the yoke of
a computer monitor, so my best guess is that it will be a very
low frequency wire for application purposes. Thanks for any replies.
