I started listening for Darwins beacon at around 10pm local time.
It finally " Popped up " out of the noise at 11:54 pm Eastern time,
a little later than on Tues. night. And the signal was not a solid
for copy either. I was surprised at how quickly it dropped back into
the band noise, and then just as suddenly, it would re-appear.
The signal would hold in for anywhere from a minute to almost 2 min.
and would fade for about the same duration. It was really up and down.
Tues night, the signal was solid, and steady with very little fade.
I did manage to get some audio of a couple of good signal rises, and
I'll post it on the web somewhere later when I get it edited for
clarity... Darwins USB portion of the sequence was barely heard.
The CW is at about 12 wpm... Rough mileage is 546 miles from here
to Empire, LA. The signal faded out at 12:25 pm Eastern ( 05:25 UTC )
and I didn't hear it again after 45 minutes of listening.
