Mike:
*** Clarification ::: I should have said " CHIP " instead of amp.
If I remember right, I think I removed it from an old TV board that
I cannabalized for parts. It's a TDA7052B - BTL MONO 1 Watt Audio Amp
with a bandwidth up to 300 KHz, and total device dissapation of 1.5 watts.
It's not a " get it from Radio Shack " part, so now that I know I can
make RF with an audio chip; I'm going to try the LM386 as a driver.
It's easy to get, runs 1/2 watt, should easily drive a pair of
transistors in a linear configuration. My whole objective is to come
up with something that can be easily built, even by a beginner, using
parts that are probably already in your junk box, or easily obtainable.
minimal parts count, and still operate reliably.
The audio chip worked all night set for 90 MilliAmps of Antenna " I "
and didn't blow, so it should be reliable. Mine is on a breadboard so
it is a little flakey when you move the clip leads around, once mounted
on the PC board, that will stop. *** I think that the entire transverter
including PA, and output filter will be able to fit a 3 x 5 board.
Going to be a rainy, stormy day here as the cold front is crossing the
SE today, so a good day to be at the bench doing some testing.
73, and have a good weekend :
