Good old fashion Spar Varnish. A nice basket weave coil with wooden
dowels and laminated end caps; that'd look pretty darn fancy done in
varnish. Add the Litz windings and a coat of varnish over that and it'd
be good for 40+ years. The only issue I could see, is it looking too
darn nice and a guy not wanting to put it outside...hi hi
