Poor from here too John - no WOLF or WSPR decodes from Europe and it
looks like Saturday decode was a rarity at this time of the year. I did
have higher than normal levels of QRN too from the East - some typhoon
out there me thinks.
From 0700 local its useless as one of the local MW stations fires up
its daytime antennae and causes a lot more lines to appear. Ill build
that PA0RDT modded probe preselector from what I have lying here and see
if it makes any difference. I left my dang LPF in AK -
Ive changed the bias levels of the probe to improve the figures a bit
but with some 4 stations at between 0 and -3dBm, and a load more at
-10-20dBm the poor thing struggles a bit.
My AK rx is plagued by Computer PSU noise below 504Khz - so 495 KHz is
particularly useless at the moment - Sheri cant find an alternate Dell
unit and I cant get her to knock an earth rod into the ground where the
Wal-Mart cable comes in, or wind the toroid! It will have to wait till
Christmas but I can hear long range NDB's so its not the K9AK in the
woods....The China location isn't too bad at all - something like S4-5
background though' nosier at night of course.
Loads of carriers on 504kHz within a couple of Hz - and per Jims and
other notes they appear to be 56th harmonics of 9Khz or 63rd(?) of 8Khz
etc switching" devices nearby - I can spot 12 carriers on 504khz - and
that's not including RTE's 2nd harmonic on 252kHz. Avoid 504 kHz then
seems to be the advice....
Back to the spreadsheets.
Cheers
Laurence in BY3A

Nice...good to hear from you, and also to know that TAG is really on. I
forgot to check it when I got home!
Copy of M0BMU has been limited tonight...had some early clear copy
between 2330 and 0000Z, but nothing really after that. Very strange
compared to the earlier WSPR results. WOLF should win the battle, but
not by these results.
Anyway, thanks for the report.
