That is kind of a strange one Andy . I thought perhaps if the oscillator was
shutting down in between transmissions , the problem could be that .

Guess my theory is out the window .

If you don't find it to be a solder joint or mechanical contact on the
socket , we do have the luxury of having one of the leading experts , if
not the leading expert , in North America , on anything related to crystals
and frequency , that is a member of this list .

I don't know if his companies have ever done any testing with programmable
oscillators , but I would bet they have .

Keep us informed as to what you find , and if you still have a problem , I
will make sure that Charles takes a look at our posts .

Lyle has an entire article on his pages , that Eric has mirrored , that is
titled Epson Programmable Crystal Oscillators , and you can see from his
work , voltage does not have much influence on the frequency .(
http://www.nutstreet.net/k0lr/ )

When I turned the beacon on the other day , it was on EXACTLY the same
frequency as when I shut it down at the end of last season , as measured by
myself and Garry , in Illinois .

For once I have to completely agree with Mike , that my experience with them
over the years is they may be a tad off the ordered frequency , but I have
never had one vary from that frequency . I use no type of temperature
control on mine .

I am really interested in what the problem is .
