[Lowfer] Good daytime condx! - Antenna stabilty during rain here

Good day everyone:

Thanks for your post Jay. That is very encouraging, and the first
daytime " True DX " reception for " XR " . The new GND radial
system has made a remarkable improvement in antenna actions during
rain. It has been raining for hours here, and is a soaking/runoff
rain. The RF current has only dropped 20 mAmps with the insulated
wires, vs. the bare aluminum which would drop from 60 to 80 mAmps
when the ground is wet. The 3 GND rods with the Kitty Litter also
made a noticable improvement in ant. stability during changing WX.
One of my top-hat ropes broke last night, and a portion of the
top-hat dropped down some. Changed the tuning somewhat, hopefully
I can get it back up today if rain lets up. Each change seems to
be improving the system, no wasted effort so far which is great.

On propagation; Solar cycle 24 appears to be slowly becoming
active. A CME was detected today which is forecast to affect the
" K " index with rising numbers either Mon. or Tues. I haven't
been around on LF during an active Solar cycle, so it will be
interesting to watch propagational changes during this cycles
upswing.

73 to all ::::
