The W5JGV ARGO Grabber has been moved to a different computer.
I am running it on a rather old laptop computer in an attempt to reduce
the power consumption. The system is in Beta test now, so there may be
some "Oops!"es here and there. It has been operating for several days
uploading to a dummy account on the server, and working well, so it is
"live" tonight for the Beta test.
I have been comparing the visual displays from the two computers, and
they look the same here. You may note that the Peak signal level shown
on the "new" display is about 15 dB lower than the previous display.
This does not affect the visual display, but is because the signal level
to the previous computer was too high.
Any yes, the band is quite a bit noisier here tonight, so the ARGO
signals are weaker. Thunderstorm QRN has raised the noise floor by
about 20 dB higher compared to the past few excellent listening nights I
have experienced here.
Good DX & 73,
