   ,NIce pictures. Your trailer should serve as a good ground plane. 
Bonding panels together may help. Seems like I read where DEX and LYLe 
mounted thier lowfer antennas over metal barn roofs. 

   Cant understand how you did it without Duct Tape. 

   Q= Xl/R. Can you measure resistance of coil with DVM and measure 
inductance( then calculate Xl. I believe improving the q of your coil 
either by larger conductor or more correct dia/length ratio would be 
next best place to improve.Best d/l ratio is 2.5. I judge the length of 
your coil to be about 1.5 inch. A wire size that will give the needed 
inductance with a length of 6 inch on the paint bucket would be ideal . 
Measure R and Xl and let us know the values. Both on present inductor 
and any future changes. 

   Extend right hand over left sholder and give yourself a pat on the 
back for me.
