One method I use sometimes is to take an Exacto knife and cut parallel
grooves in a piece of pc board at 0.2 or 0.25 inch spacing, then do the same
at right angles so I have a lot of square pads cut in the board. I sometimes
use double-sided board and drill holes thru some of the pads to ground them
to the ground plane side. This method works very well.
