Tonight I managed a copy of Warren's WD2XGJ signal on my Elektor SDR rec.
Antenna was a pa0rdt mini whip, with
a Dantel 300khz lowpass filter. This was my first qrss copy with the new
rec. Lightning map shows a line of thunderstorms
from OKC to Des Moines. Very bad conditions but the SDR managed to pull
xgj out. My TS50 was no copy.
The Elektor rec is a product of Elektor Magazine, it comes as a semi kit,
the circuit board is assembled and tested, one only
needs to mount it in a box. I used a Radio Shack 4x6x2 plastic project
box. Cost of the Elektor rec is $140.00 us. I used
software by G8jcf. There is a Yahoo group for the G8JCF software.
If any one is interested I will email you a copy of my capture and the
lightning map saved at the same time.
This is my first experience with SDR, I've had mine one week so I am still
 getting aquainted with it .
