Hey Rick;
My equipment is grounded to the hilt, ( possibly too much ).
Most of my lightening problems are coming in on the GND circuit.
A lightening strike 2 to 3 miles away from me can cause an ESD,
That will usually kick my beacon off anyway, so when storms are
in the area, I just un-hook it because it won't stay on anyway.
I've only had a final to blow a couple of times, but the keyer
is so sensitive to static that it resets very easy. Everything
except my LOWfer setup is on surge protectors, that might ought
to give me a hint;
