[Lowfer] Lower than LOWfer - Part 2

Hello everyone:

I'm still in the process of optimizing my sound card / software
VLF receiver. It's quite an interesting project for me. Today I
constructed a " TEE " High Pass Filter to get rid of all the
low frequency hum, and buzz. It is working better then I expected.
Reception is very clear, Bandwidth is very narrow ( good thing ) ,
and tuning is extremely sharp. When I tune the variable capacitor,
I can watch the peak move across the band. The peak is right at
30 dB higher than the noise floor. Hoping to hear " SAQ " on this
setup.
I snapped a couple of photos of the matching coils, and the
high pass filter ( such as it is ), and recorded a 15 second audio
clip of the " SAQ " frequency as I hear it here in Friendsville.
The clip is in CW mode with a 500 cycle offset, and a 100 cycle
wide filter setting. Surprisingly clear, no birdies, or whistles.
Only the usual Spherics crackling in there.
I put the photos on My Space in the VLF folder, and uploaded the
photos, and audio clip to my Cherter web page. Follow the links
at the bottom of this message, and look, and listen if you would
like to. *** 73 for now ***
