[Lowfer] Variometer tickler coil adjustment - Question ???

Hi Andy,

You're describing what I went through several years ago when I
made a few construction improvements to my  own variometer.
The highest Q, and hence efficiecy, is obtained when the two
coils are in an "aiding" configuration, so as you've surmised
you'll want to remove a few turns from the fixed windings.
Sounds like you're on the right track and having fun too!
