Storms were potent to say the least over night throughout the midwest.
Didn't seem to bother 30 meters, since WA2YUN on Wake Island was
receiving our WSPR packets around 0400Z. Looking at the F1AFJ grabber,
it was clear the racket wasn't bothering Europe either because "XGJ" on
137 kHz was displaying nicely. That promptly a look from NE IL and "XGJ"
was coming in well around midnight local time too. Not as strong as
often seen but the ARGO QRSS-30 plot looked great nonetheless.
WE2XGR/1 was sending CW bursts on 506.31 kHz most of the night so it is
interesting to compare signals with XGJ. The latter wins hands down. Had
to use QRSS-3 to see WE2XGR/1 (barely) whereas XGJ was easy copy even at
that rate. Wonder how the ERPs compare?
NDB SWZ on 391 kHz in Tennessee was noted so the receive loop was aimed
at XR for awhile after midnight, but nothing was copied using ARGO
QRSS-30. This morning (1100Z) even copy of MP at the lowfer watering
hole is very difficult.
