Yes on your comment, no argument. In explaination I'll say that while browsing on eBay I saw that lone xtal, computed the divide and noted it was close to 185.3. Time was short on that sale and thought someone might be looking for a FT-243 like it or whatever, so I made that post.
Never expected the flood of comebacks ;-) But think the stimulation it provided, resulting in posts from erstwhile "silent" posters, was productive and welcome overall.
Gee, wonder, did anyone buy it off eBay? Heh heh, if something shows up around 185.94, will have a clue.

Hi Peter,
I usually figure a .1% 'pull factor' is all one can hope for using a series capacitor or inductor. That Xtal, therefore, would fall short of 185.3 by quite a bit. I keep preaching a 5.185 MHz 60 cent microprocessor Xtal divided by 28 works very well but I guess coming up with a divide by 28 counter is a stickler.
