[Lowfer] WMS beacon still off

Thanks for that info. My spectrum display is 24khz wide. When I am set up
on the part 15 band I can see
GLS(205) and BDQ(208) on my screen, which I use to determine the band
condition. WEB(454mi) is usually copied even with my
beacon on less than 2khz away. It is odd that I have never been able to
copy CV at a distance of 250 miles, I have
only once copied the CFV ndb which is just a few miles from Charles. Some
say 250 miles is a bad distance for lowfer
and AM BC reception.
I read somewhere the administration is going to shut down loran as a cost
saving measure. I wonder about the NDB's?
Best info I have is one's in this area are owned and maintained by the
 municipal airports.
Thanks
Paul k5wms

Hi Paul,
Just to set your mind at rest, 206 GLS has been off lately. Since GLS is
audible just about anywhere in North America, at least at night, its
 absence
on the few times it goes off (for unknown reasons), is certainly
 noteworthy.
(It must be a rockcrusher-level signal for you, when it's on.)
73,
Steve
NE Oregon (where GLS is always easily heard at night)
