In our EOC system here , we have two 897's and two 857's . Both of them
receive WWVB easily . I have been pretty impressed with their performance
below the BCB .
When I get bored on a deployment , I often listen for my beacon .
If I am close to a high power broadcast station , they do suffer from a
small amount of intermod , but nothing severe .
We are using a G5RV at the EOC office and once deployed we have a push up
fiberglass pole and have G5RV's for that also .
Need to build me a loop that will fold over flat on the roof of the comm van
for travel and stand it up when we get on site . Don't think an eprobe on
top of the mast would be a good idea , since someone might key up one of the
other rigs on the G5RV .
Has anyone been in the hobby of chasing
Part 90 TIS transmitters ? I maintain one that is about 40 miles from me and
can hear it most of the time on my car radio while parked at home . It runs
10 watts on 1.610 kHz .
