One of the easiest signals to monitor in that band is "HI" 


"HI" is also one of the easier MEDFER beacons to copy.
I was really excited on copying it last winter >100 miles from here. Then I found out he's running several WATTS into a good sized antenna. I thought I was copying a 100mW into a 3 meter antenna.  When I found out the real story on HI I gave up on real Medfer operation.
Thankfully I have a Part 5 license and don't have to worry about exceeding 100mW !
