[Lowfer] new 500 kHz grabber

Jackson Harbor Press has a $17-shipped price LF converter kit--probably the
best value around for a quick and easy LF converter.
http://home.att.net/~jacksonharbor/lfconv.htm
Its input lowpass filter cuts off around 430kc and the converter is aimed
more towards the 137kc band, and lower NDB band usage. But it would be
fairly easy to change the existing LPF to go higher to include the 600M
band. The converter comes with both a 4 and 10Mc crystal to choose what freq
to upconvert to.
Cuba plays easy listening music on 530kc at night; is generally good copy
here most evenings when conditions are decent and static is low. 530 RVC
Turks and Caicos used to be there too, but the last major hurricane took
down their antenna and it probably won't be some time until they can get
another one up. 529 LYQ is often a big signal here too. 520 BHZ, Brazil
isn't a strong signal but can be heard frequently, using the narrow audio
filter.
