Hi Peter, hmmmm I have had trouble on an older machine at around 2.5v I am
not totally sure about this but I had a flakey boot and occasionally not
finding the HD after a successful boot, on a machine with a lowish bat after
the machine was not used for a while. I had another machine that corrupted
its CMOS and then just needed an entry to the CMOS edit screens followed
immediately by a save and exit (!!) This seemed to rewrite the HD data in
the auto detect mode. Some sytems seem to have a mind of their own :-))

Good Luck with it, but I second the approach of moving slowly before doing
anything to overwrite any data that may be lurking still on the HD.
