Greeting all: Well after months of searching for correct info; Thanks to Jordan in Canada for
providing it to me; I finally have decent recieve on 600 meters now. It was like trying to solder
a pin head with a crowbar, but I managed to bypass the attenuator network for the range of .500 to
1705 KHz. There is absolutely NO info on the net about this mod. Jordan told me which resistors to
bypass, and after finding them, and doing so, hearing pretty good now. BCB stations at 30 to 40dB
over now as they should be instead of S-9 to 10 over. No IMD detected so far, I'm pleased with the
results.
NEXT: The mod for the TS850S " WILL NOT WORK " on the 450. They ARE different. I tried this mod.
and it was a disaster. I don't know about anyone else's 450; but I know it didn't work on mine.
The resistor values in the 850 are different from the 450, as well as circuit location.
I would be happy to share the info I have with anyone who needs to modify a 450.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day; 73, Andy - KU4XR
