OK Gentlemen: Thanks to Alan, Jay, and John for your info. I believe for my part the question was answered. Alans remarks point to the ( per meter ) wording is in regard to the transmit antenna length, and the article by John ( W1TAG ) pretty much confirmed that by seeing his FS measuring set up. Using a small loop antenna with the Rycom SLM.
**** Question #2 : If I understand this correctly then, the following equation shows,
2400 / 185.300KHz equals 12.951 microvolts, multiplied by 15 meters which is the transmit antenna length, which equals 194.265 microvolts which should be seen as measured at a distance of 300 meters ( 975 feet ), on calibrated FS equipment, referenced against a known field strength at a given distance. I understand the effects of ground losses, surrounding terrain, etc. so this would be under perfect conditions. The main thing for my knowledge; is this equation correct ???
Thanks again: Andy - KU4XR
