J.B.,

It's been interesting to watch TAG's WOLF copy this afternoon.
Thunderstorms have built up in NY, and are moving through western MA and
CT. The noise level is now very loud here in central MA. As time has
passed, I have lost copy of TAG, but I'm still getting lock-ons at the
right frequency, with steady framing. There just isn't enough signal to
decode, however.

This is consistent with what has been happening at night as the static
builds up. So seeing extended lock-on periods with no clear text is to
be expected under very noisy conditions. One hint I meant to mention
earlier: Watch the number right after the "q:". The normal threshold of
copy is around -3. If you're locked onto a particular frequency and
frame value, you may expect to see real copy when q > -3. However, this
seems to fall apart under heavy static-crash situations, so there's an
exception for every rule.
