XGR/5 here,
Dex didn't mention our conflict on ~507. I was trying to contact Dave/17 on Thursday night on 506.9 (my assigned frequency) and a signal faded in near this frequency that eventually became quite strong. Because of my poor code reading ability I couldn't follow the 4 min repeating message except for recognizing some /10s. I told Warren the next day on the phone about this and he looked up /10 and reported that this was likely Dex. What a surprise!! I Emailed him and now we are looking for a relatively static free night for a QSO. I think both of us are running close to 40w so it will be interesting to see who receives the stronger signal. This is disavow all over again :)
I haven't been sending all that much in the unattended mode on 506.9 as it's easy to interfere with other stations due to the tight packing of assigned frequencies. I'll probably use this freq only when the intent is for 2-way communicating. I'm back in Andover for a couple of days and the Xmtr is off right now. When I get back to Ellsworth the plan is to send on both 506.9 and 512.3 but later in the evening on 512.3 with the keydown and regular ID so Peter and others will have a signal to look for.
Thanks to all!
Bill
