Hello Lewis,

I believe the BFO offset (tone) in a CW mode is 800 Hz, menu adjustable 
in steps of 10 Hz.
Same as for the IC-703+ transceiver.
CW mode is similar to LSB with a BFO offset.
CW-R (reverse) is USB with the BFO offset.

No tone in USB/LSB mode.
For a carrier RF input, with the RX  tuned in USB mode to the exact 
freq, gives an audio output of 0Hz.
for the same RF carrier, USB mode, Rx tuned 1 KHz low, gives an audio 
output of 1 KHz.
