All,

Hey, good tip. I changed from mere parking on 185.300 and tuned for the LF BC'rs.
Here's what I heard in N ILL:
  7pm, 177, Radio France, music
  7:30P, 153, Euro One's carrier only
7:50P, 162, France, male speaking French
'' , 198, BBC, QSB, parts of speaking, intermixed w/ usual NDBs

Ha, none Q5 but detectable. Of these only 162 could be concidered as 'usual' at this QTH, and only in the post sunset window.
A nice finds.

TAG bagged, again. Sort of strange this one. I reported to John that the other night I was watching in real time the 185.300 Argo screen with MP on top and TAG on the bottom. Tag suddenly stopped, not faded -- nothing. I suspected it was turned off. However John replied that it was not. So then what? Few nights and nothing seen, then last night at 6:05CST a prominent trace starts at TAG's prior spot on Argo. Made a few IDs then "turned off" and gone. Mere luck catching it. Not the usual with observing other LF beacons, that short duration and full on, full off.

Fun nonetheless - Peter

Been receiving LF BC stations since way before sunset here in NC.
Signals are probable the best I've ever heard.
