I understand that.  My point was that there's nothing inherently noisy about 
the technology.  Better bulbs do exist.  If we had a government that 
believed in governing wisely and not merely posturing, they would not just 
mandate any old CFL, they'd mandate the good ones."

	I wonder how there can be any "good ones", at least insofar as RF noise is concerned.  A distorted 200V p-p since wave at 35 kHz or vicinity is bound to result in garbage and I haven't had one which didn't.  Of course there are other "electronic ballasts" in use and they may be as bad - haven't had any fixtures with them here but see ads.
