I am using my TenTec Pegasus for lowfer reception. Alone it is deaf below
500 khz ,but with a preamp it functions well. My preamp is from Lyle Kohler's
home page. Just google his name and it should take you there.
Problem with TENTEC equipment is they are designed with a bandpass front end.
The lowest set of input filters are designed for 160 and 80 meters. All you
have to do is overcome the attenuation being out of the filter bandpass. Also
the preamp has a field effect transistor to change the high impedance of
a random wire down to 50 ohms.
If you are not into building LW Engineering offers a similar unit.

I called Ten Tec. They tell me that the Orion is not designed for LF and
although it tunes, they have no specs and don't think it will work well. So
much for published specs.
I'll go the up converter route.

You can always call Ten-Tec their support is great.
Maybe they have some specs or software mod.
I know they make stuff for the military.
