I built a ferrite about 14 inches long and 1 inch diameter
picked up a bunch of 1/4 inch ones at a hamfest,, why I didnt
buy them all I dont know were 10 cents ?? glued them up
anyhoo
it works as a demo antenna . Doesnt work well as a DX antenna
although I havent tried it at a quiet location
I called ken back in the early 90s as I copied his MF beacon
sounded pretty old but we discussed loops as TX antennas
I have somewhere his LF notebooks,, vol 1 and 2 but I believe he had
another one which I dont have
I made a good LF converter with a Mini Circuit Mixer and a INEX
4 Mhz xtal,, got real lucky as the xtal has no drift,, Added a simple
front end worked very well used it until I got an SDR IQ. The mixer
wanted
a bit more injection than the LO alone provided but it is immune to
overload
so I didnt add an amp to it KISS
