[Lowfer] simple Lowfer transmitter plans

It was working last night, and since it's the first of the month it
probably got cut off at the date switch.
I have been doing LF listening for some time... I got started by
listening to an NDB on a portable shortwave radio that I picked up by
accident while playing with the LF capabilities. It wasn't too good at
picking up anything but local, so I tried out my HF rigs and found that
they were worse, thanks to the high-pass filters.
I now have an Icom R-75, and it's been a very nice rig to receive LF
with. I've managed to copy NDBs over 2000km with my not-so-good antenna.
Within a few days I will have an RX loop with preamp which I hope will
perform much better.
We'll see what I can pick up from my less than ideal location in the
city. I do hope to see some Lowfer signals once things are fine-tuned.

This freq is divided by an appropriate factor in the IC divider to the desired LF output. This is all explained within the article. It's very simple and cheap. The "traditional" way would involve finding an appropriate x-tal (not easy). However, should you wish to browse x-tals, see Nebraska Surplus Sales, they have a large collection.
