For what it's worth...I ran a North South TX loop on 185kc with only 700
milliwatts and it showed up many nights on Steve's grabber which is due
East of here. It is possible to receive off the sides of the TX loops.
Another example was my East West TX loop and Lewis could see my signal
down south as well as Lyle seeing it 75 miles north of here via
groundwave & back scatter. Lyle has well documented tests of that
antenna on his website. I think it is just a matter of time until Ted
gets the antenna sorted out and his signal will be very healthy. 100w on
2200 meters or any LF or MF band will cover the country with the
antennas the guys have been using these past few years. Good to hear of
another Part 5 station on the air.
