The loop is made from #8 wire.
The RF current I measured was on the transmitter side of my matching
network.  (2 amps)
The matching network is almost identical to the one you described on
December, 2004.
I have a combination 1000 pfd vacuum variable capacitor and some G3 size
caps to tune it.
It takes about .0138 uF to match the loop to 50 ohms.
