[Lowfer] MSK31/08 Tests tonight

Thanks to all for the reports tonight. The MSK31 test went about as
expected, but the MSK08 stuff was odd. The latter doesn't seem to
tolerate multitasking very well, a common problem with these soundcard
based programs. We had used MSK08 on 137 kHz right after DL3YHF wrote
it, and felt that the implementation offered no real advantage over
PSK08. Wolf remarked at the time that the decoder was far from optimal.
I don't recall any stability problems at the time, but it was a while
ago. These Spectrum Lab modes are fun for testing and experimentation,
but have their limits.

My web searching hasn't turned up any soundcard-based alternative for
MSK that will run under Windows (sorry, Bill). If anyone is aware of
anything, let me know.

Again, thanks. We're cooking up something interesting for Thursday night.

John A.
