Pretty good copy here tonight. Both signals were
audible throughout the test - I did see some
dropouts during deep fades but I could still hear
the signal in there even during the fades. Also
noted some missed characters coincident with the
occasional strong static crash. Oddly enough,
the MSK08 seemed to have errors in the fades just
like the MSK31 - so no real advantage I'd say.
I didn't get the MSK08 decoder switched on fast
enough after you guys changed modes, so missed
first few characters of the MSK08 xmsn.
The receiver setting was unchanged throughout
(508.50 Khz, CW narrow mode - 500 Hz IF) and I
did *not* restart the program at any time.
There was no reply from Jay after John's last
transmission asking if copy was OK now.
Apart from some linefeeds and some breaks added
here to make the text more readable, here is what I captured...
73,

interesting to see the reports from further out. Guess we could always run a
low power test between us like we did with the other modes. Running here the
usual - 4ØØ watts to the 9Ø' vertical. WX 35 F and cloudy. Think we are
supposed to get some snow tonight but it doesn't sound like it wil amount to
much. How copy? WE2XGR/3 de WE2XGR/2 K

WE2XGR/2 de WE2XGR/3 rr solid copy, Jay, no errors other than one spelling
uistake <g>. guess yoc can't get much better than that. Not as quiet tonight
as on some o:our other tri ls, so I'd guesl thit the static crashes wiel
tace out some copy at a adstance. Wx here is abt the same, 33 deg last I
looked. We are supposed to get a mixture of stuff over th
nexttday, but it doesn't sound like anything major. Yes, we probably should

XGR/3 de XGR/2 FB John. Well there were a few misses but couldn't pinpoint
the reason. Appeared to be a combination of fade and static just at the
right time. At one point I got about 6 or 7 chars of jibberish. Then it
cleared up and all was correct after that. Guess it's time to switch over
to MSKØ8 so you might as well make the switch for your next transmission.
Like watching the text back up for correcting typing errors. So back to you.

'R Jay, nice copy. I don't see any hits. You probably won't see any
corrections at this lower speed, as I am well ahead of the buffer. Sounds
cool on the receiver, just a slight warble...took a spectrum sho i ot
