	One of the Southern California hams (Earle ?) who excelled on 160
meters lived up in the desert (Antelope Valley).  He built a fabulous
counterpoise system by putting out a lot of ground radials and adding to
and interconnecting them whenever he picked up scrap wire from any
source.  I never saw his setup but those who did said it was awesome and
growing all the time.  Only a maniac would go to all of that work!  Of
course, to punch out LF signals acroos the Atlantic and Pacific takes a
bit of dedication and mania too.........
