I'll decide what to do over the weekend. As you say, those "junk
laptop"prices are attractive. I have access to an endless supply of obsolete
Pentium desktop machines, but none have sound cards, and I have chucked out
any old cards I had here.

Thinking ahead for lower bit rate BPSK, would it be any advantage to have
the sampling frequency locked to an external standard? That would argue in
favor of an external a/d card. How much is Africam married to the 7200 Hz
sampling rate for an external a/d?
