"But regarding your antenna -- what I know about propagation would fit
on
the head of a pin, so all I'm speaking of here is practical experience:"

	For those who are interested in preducting propagation do a Google
search for "W6ELProp". It's available for free download from several
locations. With it and the current data at the LWCA page you can make a
pretty good estimate of the propagation between any two lat/long's. You
can plot a 24 hour graph showing propagation for any selected frequency
between 3 and 30 MHz and printed out. Show when the path is possibly
open and the realitive probability of it being open.  Give it a try;
it's easy to use if you have the lat/longs which you can calculate from
the grid squares (easiest way I've found is a program you can download
from AMSAT). I used it last Sunday to estimate the best time to listen
for several Hifers and found it worked quite well.
