Hi Ed,
Yes, I feel your pain. I'm taking an electronics course at the
university level as a part-time and not-so-young student.
On the first day last week, our instructor (middle-aged PhD) admonished
the class that NOT reading the text is not an acceptable excuse on
achieving a failing grade. Gulp! Imagine that coming from a prof 30-40
years ago! It's different.
Ya, he said some "students" were not taught to read in HS so they come
in dumb and expect to succeed. Yeeks!
