Hey Peter,
So what all do you have for a ground plane now??? It sounds like you are
getting ready for one hell of a vertical setup. Do you have Part-5 plans???

Subject: [Lowfer] Ground Radials Progress
Constructing the GND radial system as I last described. All working to
plan, esp.the CU bus pipe.
Using 3/4 IN pipe with two 90Dg Els to 2 foot "legs" for sticking in
the ground. The main piece is notched w/ a hacksaw to receive multi
radial wires each. Using water-based flux and propane torch with direct
flame for soldering. Get the metal up to temp and the solder flows FB.
Used up one 500 foot roll of house wire quick. Next started on my
"collection" of used wire but that takes time to determine length and
what paired-up is a suitable new length. Think I'll return to the home
store for more reels, though drop down to no. 14 to pare the cost per.
Also, that 4X50 foot galvo rabbit fencing took several CU attaching
leaders well. Soldered them across several length-wise wires each. I
placed it under the 10-foot loop and the noise bars at 137 went down
when I next looked in. They had been persistent earlier. Plan to later
use it for the jacked-up T.
Still not seeing any signals through Saturday night and was looking for
Mitch at last years 137.800 (reducing that with my R-8 rx displacement
factor).
I note the new XFX freq and will tune for it tonight.
Peter
