As I guessed, but left open the proximity of them to the coil. John
approves of cutting them as some cost to the sturdiness of the former
and to open the "short." Yeeks.
Yes, as you say, I thought about removing them and then inside-bracing
of sorts, w/ the vari-coil framing.
I liked this over a bucket because of the large dia. I had a bucket one
last fall and want a bigger one for better D/L ratio of 2.5 to 1 for my
newer T. So now maybe I'm talking myself into a basket weave former
(large D) like Mitch's & Eric's. I'm not opposed to that. It's just that
this thing came rolling down the street and called my name so I brought
it home. (Wife thinks it's another trash can -- hey, which is true.)
Anyone want a good fiber former, free for pickup? <G>
