My part 5 license is granted:  WD2XFX.

The engineer in charge of my app called me this morning and asked me 
questions about my stated purpose.  At first I thought I would be 
declined.  He seemed concerned.  We hem-hawed back and forth a little 
until he finally came out and asked me if this was for hobby purposes or 
if my end-goal was to try to convince the FCC to allocate 2200m to part 
97.

As soon as I said it was for hobby purposes he relaxed -- I could hear it 
over the phone -- and said my license would be granted shortly.

He called back to ask if I really intended 135.7 to 137.8 as a range or 
was I interested in a single center frequency.  I told him that the range 
was really what I wanted and he said ok, and I got my grant that way.

Perhaps some of this may help someone else.

W1TAG needs to call 'em -- he applied long before me and should have been 
granted long ago.  His app must be burried or something.
