	If that remark was for me the copy was definitely by ear with audio
from the speaker and no audio filter necessary.  Somewhere I have quite
a few tape recordins of the various CA beacons (at least the ones
copyable here in LA area), circa 1982 or so.  Mike wasn't quite the
farthest away but definitely the strongest for the distance.
