Great article Ralph! One suggestion: The tempco of your divider
resistors in
the freq trim is critical. Possiblly you used RN55 metal film or
equivalent
resistors?

Yes, I did, and the pots are wire wound 20 turn units.  I'll see how it
works in the room I am going to use it in, the air temp is fairly stable
there.  Otherwise, I'll put the whole oscillator in a home made oven.
I'd probably sandwich it between a couple of slabs of Styrofoam
insulation with a heater panel inside. That will still fit in slot of
the SLM.
