Not magnetic storms - believe this is the beginning of the Fall solar outage season. This is when the sun passes directly behind the geostationery satellites and because it is much louder than they are- pix outage. Many services now provide a quick switch to a different bird while the sun is behind their standard bird.No idea what the scanner problem is. HF sounded FB here yesterday. Dale W4OP
