Re Loran Lines:
Some comments on the different receiving antennas I can use......

1 Using the AMRAD active antenna, I receive great (?) Loran lines,
particularly during the day - obviously not bothered by evening
propagation of noise and other background hash.

2 Using the 12 foot octo-loop - I find it very difficult to see
Loran lines - the octo-loop, as you know, is broad-band and un-tuned,
within its 3/4 inch copper tubing..... and very, very directional.

3 Using the K9AY, I have no trouble receiving Loran lines along
with the desired signals.

I also have a single 12 ft square copper loop, as per the article
by Jim Moritz..... it is quite sharp - series tuned to one frequency
only, with preamp mounted at the antenna. There are no Loran lines
visible with this antenna.

So for serious hunting where there may be Loran lines - I find the
octo-loop, mounted at 20 feet is the one I switch to.
Copying XFX, VO1NA, and ZL6QH with that antenna.

Have I added to the confusion ??
