Jerry - I have built the KF5CQ converter ( with 4 MHz oscillator ) and works
very well. Probably the best I have used - with the exception of my problems
with the oscillator. Using an inexpensive 4 MHz xtal, I can listen right
down to 10 kHz wth no problem.
I find that it is very good for NDB listening, and QRSS3 on lowfer bands.
However, anything slower, like QRSS30 and slower there is a noticeable drift
- allowing the signal to move right out of the ARGO passband. I think a TCXO
would be the answer, or another technique for stabilizing the oscillator -
but have not attempted any fix yet ( # 42 on projects list - hi ! ).
Other than that - an exceptional converter .
